FASS Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Coordinator is responsible for organizing, scheduling and facilitating meetings with the departmental FASS representatives, and the following duties.
The FASS Coordinator ensures accurate submission of meeting minutes to the VP Internal;
The FASS Coordinator ensures attendance of its members at Departmental Meetings, Faculty Board Meetings, Faculty Representative Meetings and CASG General Assembly Meetings;
The FASS Coordinator recruits, trains, and encourages all of its members to actively participate in the Carleton Academic Student Government organization by performing class talks, speaking with departmental societies, administration, faculty, and students;
Additionally, the FASS Coordinator must meet with their representatives once a semester (‘Faculty Representative Meetings’). This meeting shall be solely organized by the FASS Coordinator. The responsibilities involved with running Faculty Representative Meetings include, but are not limited to: formulating and distributing the agenda in advance, scheduling the meeting time, booking the meeting room, ordering food/refreshments for the meeting, and tracking attendance.
Additionally, the FASS Coordinator must be a passionate leader and advocate for university academics. This position demands well-organized, driven, enthusiastic, and intellectual individuals who are capable of facilitating over twenty CASG student representatives.
